GREENS:

Wildcraft Green Bali: This strain has a light aroma and it traditionally offers a boost in motivation as well as properties of relaxation.

Green Maeng Da: Green Maeng Da Powdered Tea has a nice vegetal aroma and is known for its unique blend of energizing and focusing effects. Traditionally it provides an intense boost of energy while enhancing mental clarity and concentration. Great for productivity and socializing.

Green Sumatra: The aroma is very subtle and it traditionally offers moderate relaxation, moderate motivation and intense sociability.

Green Malay: Green Malay is another popular strain, as it is traditionally know for its balanced and harmonious nature. A gentle strain that is great to wind-down with and, while potent, the subtle aroma possesses only a slight bitterness. It offers moderate energy, light sedation, moderate uplifting, moderate sociability and moderate legs. A fantastic middle-of-the road strain that is recommended for newcomers and aficionados alike who are looking for that “old reliable” with a little bit of everything.

Wildcraft Green Thai: Sourced from mature, wild Mitragyna speciosa trees this strain is characterized by its smoother texture and palatable aroma with a short onset time. Thai strains have maintained their popularity status over the years. The green version is traditionally known for its higher energy, moderate motivation and mild uplifting properties. It posses slightly longer legs as compared to its red counterpart.

Green Borneo: This strain is a must have staple due to its versatility. It has a medium onset time but long legs and offers an intense energy with some moderate sedation, higher analgesia, moderate mood enhancement and intense focus.

Green Crushed Leaf: Crushed leaf is recommended for those new to Powdered Tea due as it?s lighter and easier to handle (powder can be difficult to handle). This strain has a unique aroma and it is traditionally known for its energetic properties.

REDS:

Super Red Borneo: Super Red Borneo gets its name from its extreme, and unique, red coloring. While all Powdered Tea is essentially a variation of green there is a range. Super Red Borneo is called as such due to the extreme “red” color that is achieved during the process of turning the leaves into a powder. While the aroma is very strong and bitter it is more balanced than other red strains and combines the package of high sedation, moderate analgesia with a high sense of well being. Excellent and reliable strain.

Red Kali : Red Kali is known for it’s calming effect and analgesic properties. This strain is meticulously harvested and processed to preserve its exceptional quality and potency.

Red Bali: This strain has a unique aroma and it is traditionally known for its high analgesic and sedative properties.

Gold Bali: This strain is a variation of red bali, with a shade of coloring that almost resembles a yellow vein strain, but with a more potent and bitter aroma. It has intense sedative properties but with a moderate onset time, mild uplift and a nice mellow energy. Highly recommended for those who enjoy this type of strain.

Red Maeng Da: Red Maeng Da Powdered Tea is characterized by its deep red color and rich aroma. This strain is traditionally know for its ability to boost energy levels, enhance focus and promote a positive mood. Unlike what is seen in other Maeng Da varieties it offers energy without it being overwhelming.

Red Horn: Red Horn is a strain that has been on the market for a number of years. Traditionally it is known for it’s balanced energy, intense increase in focus and moderate analgesic properties. It shares properties similar to that of Red Thai.

Red Indo: This strain has a smooth, rich aroma and offers a great package of intense sedation, intense analgesia and a mild sense of well being with mild sociability. It has an interesting body energy and long legs.

Red Elephant: Elephant strains earned their names due to their large leaves and positioning on the tree. Red Elephant isn’t a popular strain due to its mild effects and long onset time but traditionally offers moderate energy, very light motivation, mild analgesic properties and uplift with higher levels of focus. While it has a longer onset time and short legs it is a great mixer and synergizes well with pu-erh tea (caffeine).

Red Thai: This strain is characterized by its rough texture but palatable aroma with a medium onset time and shorter legs. It has maintained status as one of the most popular varieties and is traditionally known for its higher energy, mild analgesic properties and moderate mental clarity levels.

Red Bentuangie: This unique strain is relatively new to the western Powdered Tea market and is starting to gain popularity. It is a triple fermented red leaf strain which creates a strong and bitter aroma. It is not recommended for people who are new to Powdered Tea, however, since the aroma is quite strong. Traditionally it is known for its intense and unparalleled analgesic properties. The fermentation process is similar to how ripe pu-erh tea is fermented using the “wodui” method. The leaves are placed into piles/sacks, sprayed lightly with water and dried out. The leaves will sit for extended periods of time until the moisture is gone.

Red Crushed Leaf: Crushed leaf is recommended for those new to Powdered Tea due as it?s lighter and easier to handle (powder can be difficult to handle). This strain has a unique aroma and it is traditionally known for its energetic properties.

WHITES:

Wildcraft White Indo: Sourced from mature, wild Mitragyna speciosa trees in Southeast Asia, specifically in Indonesia, White Indo is traditionally known for its balanced nature, mild energy and intense focus.

Super White Borneo: Super White Borneo gets its name from its extreme, and unique, white coloring. While all Powdered Tea is essentially a variation of green there are degrees of coloring. Super White Borneo is called as such due to the extreme “white” color that is achieved during the process of turning the leaves into a powder. It is an all around favorite as it traditionally offers the higher energy of a red strain but with longer legs, higher mood elevation and mental clarity.

White Kapuas: White Kapuas, also known as White Hulu, is a little known strain that comes from farmlands which are bordered on the rain forests of Hulu, a notable area of conservation near Borneo. Its smooth and subtle flavor profile adds an enjoyable dimension. It does have short legs but with a mild energy and intense focus. It synergizes well with pu-erh tea.

White Maeng Da: White Maeng Da Powdered Tea is one of our favorite strains and is traditionally known for its ability to provide an intense energy and sociability boost along with a moderate uplift and long legs. It has a mild aroma with subtle bitter notes.

White Horn: Known for its unique horn-shaped leaves White Horn is another favorite of ours here at Aurora Tea due to it’s intense mood elevation, motivation, energetic properties and long legs. Good for mornings. However, the aroma is moderately bitter as compared to other strains due to its rich alkaloid content and may be off putting for those new to Powdered Tea.

White Elephant: Elephant strains earned their names due to their large leaves and positioning on the tree which appear like elephant ears. White Elephant has more uplifting properties as compared its red strain version but with the same moderate levels of energy and high levels of focus

YELLOWS:

Yellow Sunda: Sunda strains get their names from the Sunda Islands in South East Asia, mainly Indonesia. They are farmed using older leaves and a more extensive drying process which gives it a distinct color and aroma. Yellow (Gold) Sunda is a balanced, middle-of-the-road strain. Traditionally it has been used to alleviate anxiety and act as a subtle mood enhancer while offering a high sense of well being, moderate energy and sociability. Great for spiritual practices and focus-oriented exercises such as meditation.

BLACKS:

Black Maeng Da: The black strains are brand new to the Powdered Tea world and are known for their rich alkaloid profile and distinctive dark coloring. It is created by taking an extremely dark red strain and then cultivating it through a brief roast process. The end product is a robust and unique aroma and a quick onset. A little goes a long way with this carefully cultivated strain. Traditionally, it would offer enhanced focus and a more intense energy as compared to other strains. It is a great addition for the adventurous, however, not suggested for those just starting out as there are plenty of other options to better represent Powdered Tea.

Black Bali: The black strains are brand new to the Powdered Tea world and are known for their rich alkaloid profile and distinctive dark coloring. It is created by taking a mature leaf, extremely dark red vein and then cultivating it through a brief roast process. The end product is a robust and unique aroma and a quick onset. Traditionally, it would offer an intense sedation as compared to other strains and moderate analgesia with a more pronounced body energy. Great for a relaxing night at home. Traditionally it has also been used for anxiety reduction properties, in smaller amounts, but doesn’t have the same sociability that one would like to see. It is a great addition, however, not suggested for those just starting out due to its stronger aroma. Synergizes well with sedative herbal teas like our sleep mix.

Blends:

Aurora Sunshine Blend: Moderately strong and thicker aroma but with a quick onset. This is a blend of four different strains and creates an intense uplifting and sense of well being. Full body energy with great sociability. This blend is all smiles and has traditionally been great for anxiety.
