Sagan Dalya, also known as “Siberian Labrador Tea,” or “Grass, prolong life,” is an evergreen shrug typically found in eastern Europe. It is made from the leaves of the Siberian Labrador tea plant (Rhododendron adamsii Rehder). While it shares similar appearing leaves to it’s northwestern cousin “Labrador tea” the two have very different properties and uses.
Sagan Dalya is aromatic with pronounced citrus notes. It has been traditionally used with hot water as a natural (caffeine-free) stimulant, as well as to help with immune function, insomnia and headaches. It is not well studied but there exists some evidence to support its use in traditional medicine.
